BZ Zero-vent chemical injection

Stop venting.
Keep injecting

Solar-electric chemical injection that replaces gas-driven pneumatic pumps at the wellsite. One controller runs up to four heads. Designed, built and tested in Nisku, Alberta.

01 The problem on the pad

Your injection pump runs on the gas you're not allowed to vent.

A gas-driven pneumatic pump exhausts every stroke to atmosphere. On many well pads that makes the chemical pump the single largest vent source on site, running all day, every day, with no one watching it. The fix isn't a better pneumatic. It's taking gas out of the loop.

Before Pneumatic

Fuel gas in, methane out.

Supply gas drives the diaphragm, then exhausts. Rate drifts with supply pressure, cold weather freezes regulators, and every pump on the pad is a line item on your vent inventory.

After Brazeau retrofit

Sunlight in, chemical out. Nothing else.

A 24 VDC motor drives the same plunger heads you already trust. The controller holds rate to the litre, logs every stroke, and runs off a solar array and battery bank sized for a northern Alberta December.

→ 01

No vented gas.

No supply gas, no exhaust port. Remove the pneumatic and that source comes off your inventory.

→ 02

Solar or 24 VDC.

Off-grid on its own array, or tie into site power where you have it. Five days of battery autonomy as standard.

→ 03

One controller, four heads.

Methanol, corrosion inhibitor, scale, paraffin. Up to four chemicals, four rates, one box to maintain.

02 Methane math

What your pneumatics vent in a year.

Put in your pump count and your measured vent rate. You'll get gas vented, tonnes of methane, and the CO₂e number your regulatory team will ask about. The formula is printed underneath. No email required.

count
m³/h

Typical range varies. Use your measured rate.

h
0–1
GWP basis for methane100-yr

25 = IPCC AR4 · 28 = AR5 · 30 = AR6 (fossil, rounded). Use whichever basis your reporting uses.

Where to get your vent rateYour last vent or LDAR survey, or the pump maker's gas consumption at your supply pressure and stroke rate. If you have neither, 0.25 m³/h is a planning placeholder, not a fact.
Annual estimate8 pumps
Carbon dioxide equivalent 294.9 t CO₂e / year
  • Gas vented17,520m³/yr
  • Methane vented10.53t CH₄/yr
  • Fuel gas you stop blowing to atmosphere17,520m³/yr
  • Per pump36.9t CO₂e/yr

Estimate for planning. Not a compliance calculation. Quantification for reporting should follow your jurisdiction's approved methods and measured data.

How we calculate formula, units, assumptions
# your current inputs
gas_m3    = pumps × rate × hours
          = 8 × 0.25 × 8,760 = 17,520 m³
ch4_t     = gas_m3 × CH₄_fraction × 0.668 kg/m³ ÷ 1000
          = 17,520 × 0.90 × 0.668 ÷ 1000 = 10.53 t
co2e_t    = ch4_t × GWP
          = 10.53 × 28 = 294.9 t

Density. 0.668 kg/m³ is methane at standard conditions (15 °C, 101.325 kPa). Your measured rate should be corrected to the same basis.

Fuel gas. All vented supply gas is counted, not just its methane share. That's the gas you stop paying to throw away.

What it ignores. Pneumatic controllers, intermittent bleed devices, and any rate change with supply pressure or temperature. Measure if you can; it's the only number that holds up.

03 Product line

Three skids. Sized by heads, not by guesswork.

Every model uses the same controller, the same plunger heads and the same parts list. Pick by how many chemicals you inject on the pad. We size the array and battery to your latitude and duty.

"We pulled eleven pneumatics across four pads in one week. The methanol rate hasn't moved since, and nobody's driving out to thaw a regulator in January."

Production Foreman · Montney operator

"What sold me was the stroke log. When the regulator asks what changed on that pad, I have a timestamped answer instead of an estimate."

Facilities Engineer · Central Alberta gas producer
05 Install & support

One day on the pad. Then it just runs.

Our crews install and commission. Your operators get a 30-minute walk-through and a phone number that rings in Nisku, not a call centre.
